 | Welcome to St Mary, Islington. We are an Anglican church rooted in the Open Evangelical tradition seeking to serve God both inside and outside of the church. People have been worshipping on this site for almost a thousand years and the present congregation are a wonderful mix of ages and cultures, reflecting the diversity of modern Islington. Over the past few months St Mary's have been considering the vision that God is putting on our hearts for the next four years. As part of our proposed Mission Action Plan, we have come up with five vision statements: 1) By 2012 we aim to be a church known for our love of the people among whom we live. 2) By 2012 we aim to be a church that takes prayer seriously 3) By 2012 we aim to be a church where everyone feels equipped for the work to which God is calling them 4) By 2012 we aim to be a church known for our vibrant and diverse worship. 5) By 2012 we aim to be a church that is seen to be growing in discipleship and numbers.
